Hot, sweet and salty - and perfect for a crowd.
One ham, semi-boneless, spiral-cut - about 9 pounds
1/2 cup red wine
3/4 cup cherry preserves
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon black pepper
2 - 3 tablespoons horseradish
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place ham in baking pan. In a medium bowl, mix together wine, preserves, brown sugar, black pepper and horseradish. Pour about one third of the glaze over the ham and coat with a brush. Roast 1 - 1 1/2 hours, uncovered, basting two more times. Transfer to a serving platter. As party food, I let people cut the meat for their own sandwiches, providing small rolls, cheese slices and condiments. Enough for a crowd!
