St. Barths Sweet Almond Croissants
          

Almond paste-stuffed croissants topped with honey and crunchy almonds.


      Ingredients

2 croissants

Almond paste

About 2 tablespoons honey

1/2 cup thinly sliced almonds

Salt


      The Recipe

Preheat oven to low broil and place shelf in the bottom third of oven.

Halve croissants lengthwise. Slice thin pieces of the almond paste and place on bottom surface of cut croissants.  Close and flatten with hand.  Brush about 1 tablespoon honey on the top of each croissant and place almond slices all over the top.  Lightly salt.

Place in oven for a minute or two, or until croissants are warm and almonds are crispy.  Serves 2.
